Day 1

Nairobi to Masai Mara

Nairobi to Masai Mara

Leave Nairobi at 8:00 am and drive to the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley. Descend the escarpment and drive via Narok, then to the Masai Mara for lunch at the camp. Go on an afternoon game drive in the Masai Mara, famous for its black-maned lions and yearly migration of wildebeests. Dinner and overnight are at the camp.

The entire day will be spent on game viewing and exploring the park’s high concentration of wildlife. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals, including the elusive cheetah and leopard, hiding amidst acacia boughs. In the afternoon, an optional visit to a Masai village can be arranged; the entrance fee is not included in the package. Here you will be welcomed by the locals singing and dancing, a sacred ritual that has formed their rich tradition. The tour includes a glimpse into their local homes and way of life.

Around 8:30 am, after a relaxed breakfast, check out and depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, which is about a 5-hour drive from the Mara gate. Upon reaching your accommodation in Nakuru, check in, have dinner and relax for the day. You will spend the night in Nakuru.

Lake Nakuru is known for its millions of flamingoes and other waterbirds. Leave Lake Nakuru National Park to proceed to Amboseli National Park, with lunch en route, for dinner and an overnight stay.
