Volcanoes National Park – Gorilla Tracking – Kigali
Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge before departing for the park headquarters. At 07:00 hrs, you will complete a brief registration process where park staff assign you to a specific gorilla family. Rangers assess your fitness level and explain trekking conditions and expected durations based on the gorillas’ last known location. A total of 88 permits are issued daily, with a maximum of eight trekkers per group, ensuring a responsible and intimate experience. After group allocation, the Lead Guide provides a detailed briefing on trekking procedures and essential “dos and don’ts.” You then drive to the trailhead on the volcanic slopes. The trek may last between two and six hours or longer, depending on gorilla movement, with regular stops for rest and photography. After the unforgettable encounter, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Kigali, followed by a transfer to the airport for your onward international flight.
