Nairobi to Maasai mara national reserve (Narok County)

Upon arrival in Kenya, you will be warmly welcomed by a Savanna Sojourns representative at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), who will remain in communication with you to ensure a smooth start to your safari. Depending on your preference, pick-up can be arranged either from your Nairobi hotel or directly from the airport.

Your safari adventure begins at 8:00 a.m. as you depart Nairobi for the iconic Maasai Mara National Reserve. Along the way, enjoy a scenic stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, where you can admire sweeping landscapes and capture memorable photos.

You will arrive at Mara Ntulele Tourist Camp between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. for lunch. After lunch, check in and relax briefly before heading out for an afternoon game drive, offering your first opportunity to spot wildlife across the vast Mara plains.

As the day comes to an end, return to the camp for dinner and a cozy bonfire experience, unwinding under the African night sky in preparation for the days ahead.

Full day Game Drive at Maasai Mara (Down to Dusk)

An epic safari adventure awaits, with over seven hours spent in the Maasai Mara, fully immersed in wildlife. After breakfast, depart at 7:00 a.m. for a full-day game drive, observing animals in their natural habitat while respecting their space. Spot the Big Five and other iconic species. During migration season, witness the Great Wildebeest Migration at the Mara River, including dramatic river crossings. Enjoy a picnic lunch at designated Mara River sites, taking in the scenery without disturbing wildlife. Continue exploring the savannah, spotting diverse wildlife and birds. Return around 4:00 p.m. to Mara Ntulele Tourist Camp for dinner and a peaceful evening under the African sky, reflecting on an unforgettable day of wildlife encounters.

Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park

Start your day with an optional visit to a Maasai village, where you’ll witness traditional dances, hear fascinating stories, and experience the vibrant culture while supporting community tourism. Then, journey to Lake Nakuru National Park, famed as one of the world’s greatest rhino sanctuaries, home to both black and white rhinos. Bird lovers will marvel at flamingos that often turn the lake pink, alongside pelicans, cormorants, and hundreds of other species. Watch for the elegant Rothschild’s giraffe and other giraffe species roaming the park. Enjoy lunch en route before arriving at Buraha Hotel around 4:00 PM. Relax and recharge, ready for an exciting game drive the next day. Don’t forget your binoculars, camera, and a sense of adventure!
