Arrival in Kigali, pick up and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon your early arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our company representative, who will be your private safari driver for this tour. After a warm welcome, they will assist you with your luggage to the vehicle, and you will then drive straight to Musanze, where you will arrive after about 3 hours of driving. Depending on the time of arrival, you may first have lunch in Kigali before the transfer to Musanze or have it at the lodge.
The journey is rewarded with great views of the rolling hills of Rwanda. At the lodge, you will check in, settle in, and enjoy the serenity of the surroundings. You will prepare for your next day’s adventure and later have your dinner before going to bed.

Gorilla trekking and Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund

The trekking day will start with an early morning breakfast at the lodge, followed by a road transfer to the Volcanoes National Park offices. As you sip coffee, enjoy the views of the Virunga mountains and the serenity of the green surroundings. You will meet other trekkers at the park offices, where you will be allocated gorilla families and then undergo a briefing. Later, go to the starting point and proceed into the forest in search of the mountain gorillas. The moment the gorillas are found, it arouses excitement as you watch them go about their day. You will be allowed to stay with them for an hour, take photos, observe them, and later exit the forest and drive to Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, which gives an insight into gorilla conservation. From here, you will proceed to the lodge, have lunch and relax.

Transfer to Kigali, visit the Genocide memorial, and departure

After breakfast at the lodge, you will check out, bid farewell to Musanze, and head back to Kigali. Another journey to reward you with beautiful landscape views as you drive through the winding roads. Upon arrival in Kigali, you will visit the Genocide memorial, get an insight into the 1994 Rwanda Genocide, and at the end of it, you will be amazed at how quickly Rwanda is developing. From here, your driver will take you to one of one of the nearby restaurants where you will enjoy a meal as you come to the end of your tour. This will be followed by a drop-off at the airport for your departure flight.
