After breakfast, take the included flight from Arusha to Ndutu, where your guide will meet you at the airstrip. Begin a game drive in a pop-up-roof 4x4 across the area’s open plains, looking for resident wildlife and any migrating herds in the region. The short-grass landscape is associated with the seasonal calving period, but herd locations change with rainfall. Continue exploring in the afternoon, then arrive at Nyikani Migration Camp Ndutu for dinner and an overnight stay.

Ndutu Calving Plains

Set out from Nyikani Migration Camp Ndutu after breakfast for game drives in a pop-up-roof 4x4. Your guide will explore the plains and nearby habitats, looking for wildebeest, zebra, birds and the predators that may follow grazing herds. During the calving season, newborns may be present, but calving and hunts cannot be promised. Pause for the included hot lunch, then continue wildlife viewing before returning to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Your guide will adapt the route to recent wildlife activity and rainfall, allowing time to watch the plains rather than rushing from one sighting to the next. Break for the included hot lunch and continue exploring as conditions allow. Later, travel toward the Ngorongoro Highlands and check in at Naserian Safari Camp for dinner and an overnight stay. Wildlife movements and sightings vary from one departure to the next.

Leave camp after breakfast and descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive in your pop-up-roof 4x4. Its grassland, woodland and wetlands support a variety of wildlife; your guide will look for species such as buffalo, zebra, hippo, elephant, lion and birds. Enjoy the included hot lunch during the outing, then continue exploring before the return drive to Arusha for drop-off. Sightings and the time available in the crater depend on wildlife and travel conditions.
