It takes about 2 hours to reach the park’s entry gate, where you’ll spot playful primates swinging through the trees in the lush forest nearby. Tarangire is famously known as the land of elephants, and your game drive will give you the chance to see giraffes, antelopes, lions, and, of course, elephants in their natural habitat. Stop for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot overlooking the Tarangire River, then enjoy a late afternoon drive to your accommodation in Karatu for a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 2
Drive to Serengeti

After breakfast, you’ll set off for Serengeti National Park with a packed lunch for the road. The drive to the Ngorongoro entry gate takes about 1 hour, where you’ll make a short stop at the crater viewpoint, just 5 km from the gate, to learn more about this UNESCO World Heritage Site and take in the stunning scenery.
As you continue toward the Serengeti, you’ll enjoy en-route wildlife viewing, with opportunities to spot zebras, wildebeest, and other animals along the way. After about 4 hours, you’ll reach the Naabi Hill gate, where you can enjoy a picnic lunch under a shady tree before officially entering the Serengeti.
Your game drive in the Serengeti begins right at the gate, as you drive approximately 45 km to the Central Serengeti, taking in the incredible landscapes and wildlife during the late afternoon. You’ll then arrive at Kenzan Tented Camp for a comfortable overnight stay amidst the heart of the wilderness.

Today is dedicated to a full-day game drive in Central Serengeti, giving you the chance to spot the rest of the Big Five along with a wide variety of other wildlife. The Serengeti spans nearly 15,000 sq km, and its different regions host seasonal migrations, making every visit unique depending on the time of year.
Central Serengeti is a prime area for resident animals, ensuring plenty of sightings throughout the day. You’ll have the option to enjoy a picnic lunch in the park or return to the camp for a hot meal, depending on your preference. Spend the day exploring the plains from sunrise to sunset, experiencing the rhythms of wildlife in their natural habitat. In the evening, return to Kenzan Tented Camp for a relaxing overnight stay.
