Day 1

Your journey begins as you arrive at Nairobi’s international airport, where you’ll be warmly welcomed by the Tapestry of Africa Tours and Safaris team. After a brief introduction and assistance with your luggage, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Nairobi, where your guide will review the upcoming days and answer any initial questions. This first day is intentionally relaxed, allowing you to settle in after your international flight and begin adjusting to the rhythms of East Africa.

The remainder of the day is yours to rest and recharge after your travels. You may choose to enjoy the hotel amenities, take a short walk on the property, or simply relax in preparation for the meaningful days ahead. Dinner is on your own at the hotel restaurant, offering a gentle and comfortable introduction to Kenyan hospitality.

Day 2-3

Humanitarian Service, Conservation & Nairobi Wildlife

Humanitarian Service, Conservation & Nairobi Wildlife

Day two begins with your first humanitarian service experience as you visit a local school to deliver supplies and spend meaningful time with students. You’ll share a skill or hobby, creating moments of connection that are deeply valued by the children. After lunch, you’ll visit the Giraffe Centre to learn about conservation efforts protecting Rothschild’s giraffes, followed by a visit to the Kobe Beads Women’s Cooperative, an initiative supporting local artisans. You’ll return to your hotel for dinner on your own.

Day three morning begins with a game drive in Nairobi National Park, where wildlife roams freely against the city skyline. You’ll then visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to witness rescued baby elephants and learn about conservation and rehabilitation efforts. After lunch, the afternoon is dedicated to compassionate outreach with visits to a local hospital and an orphanage, where you’ll spend time offering encouragement, games, and shared joy before returning to your hotel.

Day 4-5

Into the Wild - Ol Pejeta Conservation Safari

Into the Wild - Ol Pejeta Conservation Safari

You’ll depart Nairobi in the morning and travel north to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, arriving around midday to check in to your lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a refuge for rescued chimpanzees, where you’ll learn about their care and rehabilitation. The day concludes with an afternoon game drive across the conservancy before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

The next day begins with a visit to the Rhino Sanctuary, where you’ll see the last two remaining northern white rhinos on Earth and learn about the science behind their protection. You’ll also meet Baraka, the blind black rhino whose story inspires conservation worldwide. After returning to the lodge for lunch, you’ll head out for an afternoon game drive, searching for elephants, lions, and other plains wildlife before enjoying a relaxed evening back at the lodge.

Day 6-7

Mount Kenya Conservation & Lake Nakuru Safari

After breakfast, you’ll depart Ol Pejeta and travel toward the Mount Kenya region, enjoying scenic views of farms and forested highlands. Your morning visit is to the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy, including the Bongo Sanctuary, where you’ll learn about wildlife rescue and breeding efforts focused on the critically endangered mountain bongo. After a picnic lunch, you’ll continue south with a scenic stop at Thomson’s Falls before arriving at your lodge inside Lake Nakuru National Park in the late afternoon, with time to rest and enjoy dinner.

The next day is spent exploring Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its rhinos, birdlife, and beautiful Rift Valley scenery. You may choose an all-day game drive with a picnic lunch or enjoy morning and afternoon drives with a midday break at the lodge. The relaxed pace allows time for wildlife viewing, photography, and soaking in the peaceful surroundings before returning to your lodge in the evening.

To the Legendary Masai Mara

After breakfast, you’ll enjoy a scenic drive to the legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve, passing through rolling hills and rural villages. You’ll arrive at your lodge or tented camp in time for lunch and a short rest before heading out for your first afternoon game drive, where vast savannahs and abundant wildlife introduce you to one of Africa’s most iconic reserves.

The next day begins with a morning game drive when wildlife is most active, offering excellent opportunities to see predators and large herds on the open plains. Later, you’ll visit a local Maasai village to learn about traditional customs and daily life, gaining insight into how the Maasai people live alongside wildlife. You’ll return to camp in the afternoon to relax, enjoy dinner, and spend your final evening immersed in the sounds of the African bush.

Your final day begins with one last morning game drive in the Maasai Mara, including a visit to a hippo pool for close-up wildlife viewing. After enjoying a picnic lunch in the bush, you’ll begin your journey back to Nairobi in the afternoon.
