Day 1

Depart Nairobi and drive towards the western slopes of Mount Kenya, arriving at our base lodge in Nanyuki in time for lunch. After a full briefing and equipment check, you’ll meet your mountain crew.
The journey continues to Sirimon Park Gate (2,600m) — crossing the Equator en route. Once park entry formalities are complete, begin a 3–4 hour hike through lush forest, bamboo, rosewood, and heather zones to Old Moses Camp (3,300m).
You’ll gain approximately 740 meters in altitude today, allowing your body to start acclimatizing. Keep an eye out for elephants, buffaloes, bushbucks, and various bird species along the trail.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, embark on a 7–8 hour trek to Shipton’s Hut (4,236m). This is a longer and more challenging section, testing endurance and fitness.
The trail ascends nearly 900 meters through the dramatic Mackinder Valley, surrounded by unique high-altitude vegetation such as giant lobelia and groundsel — flora found only on equatorial mountains.
You’ll spend the night at Shipton’s Hut, nestled just below the glaciers and jagged peaks surrounding the main Mount Kenya summits.

Day 3

Begin your pre-dawn summit push equipped with a headlamp. The route ascends steep scree and rocky paths to reach Point Lenana (4,985m) — the hikers’ summit — just in time for a spectacular sunrise at 0630 Hours.
On clear mornings, you can see Mount Kilimanjaro, about 340 km to the south. The climb requires stamina and some scrambling near the top, but the reward is unforgettable.
Descend back to Shipton’s Camp for a hearty brunch, then continue down to Old Moses Camp (3,340m) in about 4–5 hours. (Alternatively, trekkers with more time may rest at Shipton’s and descend on Day 4.)After the descent, you’ll drive back to Nairobidrop off at the hotel/aiport marking the end of your Mount Kenya adventure.
