Arrival in Tanzania – Kilimanjaro International Airport to Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), you will be warmly welcomed by an AfrikaKukaye Tours representative. You will then be transferred to Arusha town and checked in at your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax after your journey. In the evening, you will meet your safari guide for a short briefing to go through the itinerary and preparations for the safari ahead.

Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive to Lake Manyara National Park. The park is famous for its diverse landscapes, groundwater forest, soda lake, and rich birdlife including flamingos. During the game drive, you may encounter elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, baboons, and the park’s well-known tree-climbing lions. After the game drive, continue to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart towards Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with scenic views of the highlands. En route, you will enjoy wildlife viewing as you enter the vast Serengeti plains, renowned for their high concentration of wildlife. Afternoon game drive in central Serengeti, home to lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and large herds of herbivores.

Enjoy a full day of game drives in Serengeti National Park. This day is dedicated to exploring different areas of the park in search of predators and plains game. After a picnic lunch on the crater floor, ascend and drive to Karatu for overnight.
