Day 1

Today, at 7 am, you will be picked up from your hotel or residence in Entebbe and transferred to the boat at the shores of Lake Victoria to start the trip.

This full-day excursion takes you to Ngamba Island, a world-renowned sanctuary that provides a safe home for orphaned chimpanzees rescued from illegal wildlife trade and habitat destruction. The tour begins with a scenic boat ride across Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest freshwater lake, leading to an immersive experience with the island’s chimpanzees.

Take a boat cruise on Lake Victoria to the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary and have a chance to see chimpanzees feeding. You will also be treated to sights of monitor lizards and birds, as well as photographic opportunities. We arrange half- and full-day trips, and boats leave at 9:00 am or 12:45 pm.

Morning viewing between 9 am and 1 pm
Afternoon viewing 12:45 pm and 5:00 pm

The speedboat takes approximately 45 minutes from Entebbe to the island. Drop off will be at your hotel.
