1-Day Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda - Volcanoes NP

You'll embark on an unforgettable 1-day gorilla trekking adventure in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. Depart early from Kigali, any hotels or accommodations for a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Musanze, the gateway to the park. After a briefing at the Kinigi headquarters, you'll join experienced rangers and set off through the lush rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can take 1–4 hours, depending on the gorilla group’s location, offering a thrilling journey through bamboo forests and volcanic terrain.

Once you find the gorillas, you'll spend a magical hour observing their behavior up close, watching the silverback, playful juveniles, and nurturing mothers in their natural habitat. After this experience, you'll return to base, enjoy lunch at Tiloreza Volcanoes Lodge, and drive back to Kigali, arriving in the evening. This short yet powerful adventure offers a rare chance to connect with one of the world’s most endangered primates in the heart of Africa.
