This ancient, inactive volcanic crater — about 3 million years old and roughly 20 km² — remains the world’s largest intact caldera. Its natural walls create an environment rich with wildlife, including the Big Five and a strong chance of seeing the rare black rhino. Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

After a refreshing night’s sleep, you embark on what many call the “Day of the Lions.” Following an early breakfast and check-out, you set off for Lake Manyara National Park. Covering approximately 330 km²—around 200 km² of which transforms into a lake during high water—the park offers an extraordinary diversity of wildlife. From vast flocks of pink flamingos painting the shoreline to close encounters with majestic bull elephants, Lake Manyara is teeming with both animal and bird species. One of its rarest and most captivating highlights is the famous tree-climbing lions.
After your game drive through the lush groundwater forest and expansive plains, you begin your journey back to Arusha in the mid-afternoon. You’ll return with your heart full and your camera brimming with unforgettable memories from your East African safari, before being dropped off at your hotel in Arusha.
