Nairobi to Maasai Mara - Scenic Drive & Afternoon Game Drive

Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel, residence, or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. You will depart toward the Maasai Mara, driving through the Great Rift Valley with a brief stop at a scenic viewpoint for photos and a short break. Continue through rural towns and rolling highlands, offering views of Kenya’s countryside.

Arrive in the Maasai Mara region around midday and proceed to your camp for check-in, followed by lunch. After a short rest, depart for an afternoon game drive in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Explore the open plains and riverine areas, with opportunities to see elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife. Return to the camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Maasai Mara - Full-Day Game Drive with Picnic Lunch

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Spend the day exploring different areas of the reserve, including vast open savannahs and wildlife-rich riverbanks. This full day offers excellent chances to spot the Big Five, as well as cheetahs, hyenas, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras.

A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a designated site within the reserve, allowing you to remain in the wilderness while taking a break. After lunch, continue with afternoon game viewing, then return to the camp in the late afternoon.

Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon and be dropped off at your hotel, residence, or the airport, marking the end of your Maasai Mara budget safari.
