After a short rest, head out for an afternoon game drive across Amboseli’s open plains and swamp areas, home to large elephant herds, buffalo, giraffes, and a variety of birdlife. With Kilimanjaro forming a dramatic backdrop, the afternoon offers excellent opportunities for photography and wildlife viewing. Return to Amboseli Sopa Lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay, marking an exciting start to your safari adventure.

After an early breakfast at Amboseli Sopa Lodge, depart Amboseli and begin your journey north through Kenya’s changing landscapes toward the Great Rift Valley. Enjoy a scenic drive with views of escarpments and countryside before arriving at Lake Nakuru National Park around midday. Enter the park for a game drive en route to Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge, where you will check in and have lunch. In the afternoon, set out for a game drive to explore the park’s diverse habitats, including acacia woodland and lakeshore areas. Lake Nakuru is renowned for its white and black rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, and rich birdlife. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

The journey takes you through scenic highlands and traditional Maasai countryside before entering the vast savannahs of the Mara. Upon arrival, enjoy a game drive en route to Ilkeliani Camp, a luxury tented camp set along the Talek River. Check in and enjoy lunch, followed by time to relax and take in the natural surroundings. Later in the afternoon, head out for your first Masai Mara game drive, exploring the plains in search of lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, and other wildlife. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
