Day 1

Kigali - Nyungwe National Park

Kigali - Nyungwe National Park

You will be picked up by your driver-guide from the agreed upon location and be transferred to Nyungwe Forest National Park. On the way, you will enjoy the breathtaking views of the hills, tea plantations, markets, and more. Upon reaching the park, you will have lunch, then head out for a canopy walk. Later, you will drive to Lake Kivu to relax.

Nyungwe National Park - Lake Kivu

After breakfast, you will drive to the park for chimp trekking with a guide, carrying a packed lunch box and enough drinking water. After trekking, you will relax and go for a nature walk to the waterfalls in Nyungwe Forest National Park. After the visit, you will drive back to Lake Kivu.

Day 3

Lake Kivu

Lake Kivu

After breakfast, you will drive alongside the shores of Lake Kivu up to Goma. You will have lunch, and later in the afternoon take a boat cruise to the hot springs on the lake. You will also see the fishermen preparing to go fishing in the evening, which is their local activity.

After lunch, you will head out for a cultural tour and learn how the people of Rwanda used to live as you prepare for the golden monkey trek the following day.

Today is the highlight of the trip. You will have breakfast in the morning, then head to the park headquarters, where you will be allocated the gorilla family group you are going to visit with the ranger guide. Afterward, you will be taken to the starting point for the trek. In the afternoon, you will visit with the Batwa community.

On the way, you will go on a game drive in the Ishasha sector to look for the tree-climbing lions, which normally climb trees to relax. Afterward, you will make your way to the northern circuit for your overnight stay.

Wake up in the morning and drive to the Kasenyi Plains for a game drive. Animals to be seen include lions, buffaloes, leopards, kobs, elephants, warthogs, and many others. After the game drive, you will go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon, where many birds can also be seen.

We will leave Hoima in the morning and head to Murchison Falls National Park as you enjoy the view of Lake Albert. Along the way, we will drive to the top of the falls, where the Nile passes through narrow rocks to join Lake Albert, forming the Albertine Nile. After checking in, we will go for an evening game drive.
