Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

Today, you will be welcomed by Attractive Safaris at your hotel or at the airport. You will then go on a Kigali city tour, where you will have the chance to visit the Kigali genocide memorial, dedicated to Unesco heritage in 2023, will take you back to the barbarity of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsis, which decimated the country and left around a million dead.

You will then continue by car on the Gakenge-Gifurwe-Burera-Musanze road to admire the spectacular terraces on the hills and the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo.

- Lunch at one restaurant of Ruhondo Lake.
- Then transfer straight to your hotel at the foot of the Volcanoes to be ready for the next day's visit to the famous Mountain Gorillas.

Mountain gorillas hike

Early breakfast before proceeding to the park head quarters where visitors assemble at 07:00 a.m for a briefing on how to “behave “while in the company of a gorilla group.
Once the group of gorillas have been spotted and approached thanks to the trackers, at a distance of 5 meters maximum, so as not to disturb them, you spend one hour with the gorillas which is a truly amazing experience " before trekking back to the base and return to your lodge.

Encountering the mountain gorillas in the wild is a truly humbling and emotional experience, one that you are sure to remember for the rest of your life.
Then back to the foot of the volcano to return at your hotel. Following lunch, experience the heart of Rwandan culture at Iby’iwacu Cultural Village. Here, you’ll discover traditional music, dance, crafts, and the stories of Rwanda’s people.

Golden monkey hike

Early in the morning at 7:00 am: after enjoying your breakfast, head for adventure trekking for the rare golden monkeys in the bamboo forest. This genus of golden primates is only present in the conservation area of the Volcanoes National Park. Two clans were used to the human presence. Although the sight and stay with these monkeys is maintained for up to a maximum of one hour, you will be able to observe golden monkeys in their natural habitat up close.
After lunch, return to Kigali, and then transfer to the airport or elsewhere of your choice in Kigali City.
