Day 1

Your safari begins with a drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds and striking baobab trees. During game drives, you’ll see elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and a variety of antelopes, with lions often spotted resting in the shade. The Tarangire River attracts wildlife year-round and is a prime spot for close-up animal viewing. Birdlife is exceptional, making this day perfect for both wildlife lovers and photographers. In the late afternoon, you’ll exit the park and settle in at Eileen’s Tree Inn for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, you’ll drive toward the legendary Serengeti National Park, entering the central Seronera region. This area is known for year-round water sources, which attract large numbers of wildlife. You’ll encounter wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and top predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs. The open plains provide excellent visibility for game viewing and photography. Depending on the season, you may witness migration herds moving through the area. After an exciting day of exploration, you’ll relax at Tanzania Bush Camps – Central Serengeti.

Today you head north toward the Mara River region, one of the most dramatic areas of the Serengeti. This is where the wildebeest migration is at its peak during crossing season, with massive herds gathering along the riverbanks. If timing is right, you may witness the thrilling river crossings, with crocodiles lying in wait. Even outside crossing season, the area offers abundant wildlife including elephants, giraffes, lions, and hyenas. The remote wilderness and fewer vehicles create a truly exclusive safari feel. After breakfast, you’ll journey back to the Central Serengeti, enjoying game viewing along the way. This return drive allows you to explore different landscapes and wildlife pockets missed earlier. The Seronera Valley is especially known for big cat sightings, including leopard sightings near riverine trees and cheetahs on open plains. You’ll spend the afternoon on extended game drives, soaking in the vastness and raw beauty of the Serengeti. As the sun sets, you return to Tanzania Bush Camps – Central Serengeti for a restful evening.

This morning you drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The crater floor hosts an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, hippos, flamingos, and the endangered black rhino. The enclosed ecosystem allows for incredible game viewing in a short time. Picnic lunch is enjoyed near a hippo pool before ascending the crater rim. Later, you transfer to Eileen’s Tree Inn in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Your final day takes you to Lake Eyasi, home to the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes. You’ll experience a guided cultural visit, learning about traditional hunting techniques, daily life, and ancient survival skills of the Hadzabe hunter-gatherers. The Datoga people share insights into their pastoral lifestyle and metalworking traditions. This cultural immersion offers a meaningful contrast to the wildlife-focused days of the safari. After the visit, you’ll begin your transfer to Arusha or the airport for departure, bringing your unforgettable Tanzanian journey to an end.
