Transfer to Akagera National Park & Lake Ihema Boat Safari

If you are staying in Kigali, your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel at around 8:00 AM after breakfast. Guests arriving at Kigali International Airport will be picked up according to their flight arrival time before departing for Akagera National Park.

Upon arrival at the park reception, you will receive a short introduction and briefing before continuing to Lake Ihema for a relaxing boat safari. Cruise along the lake while spotting hippos, Nile crocodiles, and a variety of bird species in one of Rwanda's most scenic wetlands.

After the boat safari, continue to your lodge for check-in. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings before dinner and an overnight stay inside Akagera National Park.

Full Game Drive & Return to Kigali

After an early breakfast, set out on a full morning game drive through Akagera National Park. Explore its diverse landscapes of open savannah, rolling hills, lakes, and wetlands while searching for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes, and, with a bit of luck, lions, leopards, and rhinos.

After the safari, enjoy lunch before beginning your scenic drive back to Kigali. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport, marking the end of your Akagera wildlife adventure.
