Day 1

This impressive waterfall is one of the tallest in the area, plunging 70 meters of crystal-clear glacier water into its basin. The scenic path to Materuni Waterfall, situated at 2,500 meters above sea level, winds through valleys and hills covered in tropical rainforest and past coffee, banana, and avocado “shambas,” the Kiswahili word for farms.

After visiting the waterfall, you will enjoy a local lunch before departing for Chemka Hot Springs. The drive to the hot springs is bumpy and winding, taking more than 40 minutes, but along the way you can admire the beautiful scenery and glimpse authentic Tanzanian life. Upon arrival at Chemka Hot Springs, you can swim, relax, enjoy the sun, and have lunch. If you wish, a barbecue can be prepared while you swim.
