Nairobi - Masai Mara National Reserve

Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by our professional driver-guide and picked up from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). Following a short safari briefing, depart Nairobi and travel towards the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. En route, enjoy a scenic stop at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint for panoramic views and memorable photographs. Continue to the Maasai Mara, arriving in time for lunch at Mara Elatia Camp, an intimate and comfortable safari retreat offering a peaceful setting surrounded by the natural beauty of the Mara. After lunch and check-in, relax before embarking on an afternoon game drive, your first opportunity to explore the reserve and encounter its remarkable wildlife. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Optional Hot Air Balloon Safari
An optional early-morning Hot Air Balloon Safari is available at an additional cost of USD 490 per adult and USD 355 per child (4–11 years). The experience begins at approximately 06:00 hrs and lasts about one hour, offering a spectacular aerial perspective of the Mara’s vast plains and wildlife. The flight is followed by a delightful bush breakfast featuring fresh juices, fruits, eggs made to order and sparkling wine.

After breakfast, or following the balloon experience, set out for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. Explore the reserve in search of the Big Five, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, hippos, gazelles and abundant birdlife. Between July and September, you may also witness the spectacular wildebeest migration. Later, visit a Maasai village for an insight into the community’s traditional culture and way of life before returning to camp for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, check out and depart the Maasai Mara for Lake Nakuru National Park, renowned for its scenic landscapes, diverse wildlife and rich birdlife. Arrive in time for lunch and check-in at Lake Nakuru Lodge, a charming safari lodge situated within the national park, offering an immersive wilderness experience with panoramic views of Lake Nakuru and the surrounding wildlife-rich landscape. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive through the park, with opportunities to encounter black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, lions, buffaloes, zebras, waterbucks, impalas and a variety of bird species. Lake Nakuru is also known for its flamingos and other waterbirds. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Begin the day with an early-morning game drive, taking advantage of the cool temperatures and excellent morning light for wildlife viewing. Return to the lodge for breakfast, then check out and proceed towards Naivasha, enjoying the changing landscapes of the Great Rift Valley along the way. Arrive at Great Rift Valley Lodge & Golf Resort for lunch and check-in. Set in an elevated location, the lodge offers a peaceful countryside retreat with panoramic views across the Rift Valley towards Lake Naivasha. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat excursion across Lake Naivasha to Crescent Island Game Sanctuary. Often regarded as one of Naivasha’s hidden gems, Crescent Island offers a unique opportunity to experience wildlife on foot while enjoying beautiful lake and landscape views. Walk among freely roaming wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and antelopes, while observing a wide variety of bird species along the lake shores.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge before checking out and beginning your journey back to Nairobi. Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) for your onward flight, marking the end of your memorable 5-day Kenya safari.
