International Departure from Antananarivo
International Departure from Antananarivo
After breakfast, you will visit the upper city of Antananarivo.
Perched at 1,400m, Antananarivo’s Haute-Ville is the historic heart of the capital, set along steep ridges once ruled by Merina royalty. Its cobbled streets reveal French colonial buildings and traditional brick homes overlooking the “City of a Thousand.” Dominating the skyline is the Rova (Queen’s Palace), or Manjakamiadana, established in 1610. Once wooden and later encased in stone in 1867, the palace remains a sacred royal site, offering Madagascar’s finest panoramic views despite a fire in 1995.
Following the visit, you will be transferred to Ivato Airport for your international flight.
