You will be picked up from the hotel or airport and drive to the Masai Mara, which means “spotted plains” in the Maa language. The Mara is home to an incredible concentration of large mammals and is widely recognized as Africa’s ultimate wildlife reserve. The park is the northern extension of the vast Serengeti–Mara ecosystem, famous for its annual Great Wildebeest Migration. Arrive in time for lunch, then enjoy an afternoon game drive until sunset through rolling savannahs dotted with shrubs and bush thickets, witnessing breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife.

After breakfast, you will spend the day on morning and afternoon game drives. Wildlife is abundant in the reserve, and the gentle grasslands ensure animals are rarely out of sight. Birds are prolific, with 450 species recorded, including 57 birds of prey. Each year, the Mara hosts the world’s greatest natural spectacle: the Great Wildebeest Migration from the Serengeti. Day 3

After breakfast, you will check out and drive to the Isebania border with lunch boxes in hand. Upon arrival, complete the formalities, meet your Tanzania driver-guide, and continue to the Serengeti. Enjoy an en route game drive in the park before checking in at your camp. Have dinner, relax, and enjoy your overnight stay.

Day 4

Spend a full day in the Serengeti with a flexible schedule and unlimited mileage. As you crest the hillside, the vast plains of the Serengeti stretch out before you. Serengeti means “endless plains” in Kiswahili, and this 6,900 sq. mile (18,000 sq. km) park is home to over two million large animals, including more than a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, and Thomson’s gazelles. Large predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas follow the migrating herds, while smaller animals like rock hyrax, bat-eared foxes, mongoose, honey badger, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and African hares roam the area. Nearly 500 bird species also inhabit the park. You will enjoy an afternoon game drive en route to the campsite.
