Your adventure begins with a morning departure from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and towering baobab trees. Enjoy a full-day game drive through diverse landscapes of open savannah, seasonal swamps, and the Tarangire River, which attracts a wide variety of wildlife. You may encounter elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, and numerous antelope species, along with abundant birdlife. After a picnic lunch and an afternoon game drive, proceed to Karatu for dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Tree Inn, where you can relax in a peaceful garden setting.

Southern serengeti-ndutu

After breakfast, depart for the Southern Serengeti (Ndutu region), the heart of the Great Migration during the calving season (typically January to March). Upon arrival, begin an extended game drive across the vast open plains where hundreds of thousands of wildebeest gather to give birth. This period attracts a high concentration of predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas, creating dramatic wildlife interactions. Witness newborn calves taking their first steps and experience one of nature’s most remarkable spectacles. In the late afternoon, proceed to Tanzania Bush Camps for dinner and overnight in the heart of the wilderness.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush surrounded by the migration before returning to Tanzania Bush Camps for dinner and another unforgettable overnight stay under the African sky.

After an early breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend 600 meters into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater floor is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, offering excellent opportunities to spot the Big Five - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and the endangered black rhino -along with hippos, zebras, wildebeest, and flamingos along Lake Magadi. After a picnic lunch inside the crater surrounded by breathtaking scenery, ascend the crater walls and drive back to Arusha for drop-off at your hotel or transfer to the airport for your onward departure, marking the end of your unforgettable 4-day calving season safari adventure.
