Your journey begins with an early morning pickup from Entebbe International Airport, Kampala, or your hotel, setting off toward the lush landscapes of western Uganda. The scenic 5 to 6 hour drive to Kibale National Park covers approximately 300 kilometers through rolling hills, expansive tea plantations, banana farms, and vibrant rural communities that offer a glimpse into local life.

Upon arrival in Kibale, known as the primate capital of East Africa and home to rich tropical rainforest, you will check in to your lodge nestled near the forest edge. After an early breakfast, set out for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park, home to about 500 chimpanzees. Following a detailed briefing on trekking guidelines, venture into the forest as your guide shares insights about chimpanzee behavior, other primates, and the rich flora and fauna of this remarkable ecosystem.

Kibale’s dense rainforest is considered one of the best places in Africa to observe chimpanzees, which have been habituated to human presence since 1992 and are often seen feeding on fig trees. Covering 795 square kilometers of equatorial rainforest, the park hosts one of the highest concentrations of primates in the world.

In the afternoon, continue south to Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoying scenic views and possible wildlife sightings en route. By evening, arrive near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to relax and enjoy dinner.

The highlight of the safari experience is the thrilling adventure of gorilla trekking. Your day starts with an early breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing. Here, you will meet guides and trackers who provide insights into mountain gorillas and safety protocols.

The trek begins as you hike into the dense forest, following narrow trails through towering trees and thick underbrush. The trek's difficulty varies, depending on the location of the gorilla family, with some paths requiring stamina to navigate steep hills.

Once you locate a family of gorillas, you will enjoy an unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat. This unique experience allows you to witness their social interactions and playful behaviors up close.

You may also explore some of the islands, including Punishment Island, known for its fascinating cultural history.

After your lakeside experience, begin the scenic return journey to Entebbe International Airport or Kampala. The drive takes approximately 8 to 9 hours, covering about 450 kilometers through Uganda’s beautiful countryside.
