Arrival in Kigali International Airport & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our company representative holding a personalized placard for easy identification. After luggage assistance, begin your scenic transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. The journey covers approximately 173 km, about four hours’ drive, via the Cyanika border where immigration formalities will be completed. A stop will be made for lunch and a detailed pre safari briefing to answer questions and ensure a smooth start to your adventure. We recommend applying for your Uganda visa online prior to arrival for convenience. Continue to Hotel for check in with the assistance of your driver guide. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay as you prepare for the unforgettable gorilla trekking experience ahead.

Bwindi Gorilla Trekking & Cultural Walk

After an early morning breakfast, collect your packed lunch and bottled drinking water provided by the hotel. With well-charged cameras and a rain jacket, depart for the park headquarters in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for the gorilla trekking briefing. Early morning, rangers conduct a detailed orientation on tracking rules and etiquette. During the briefing, a maximum of eight guests are assigned to one gorilla family based on fitness levels.

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi is unpredictable due to the gorillas’ movements, and the trek can last from a few hours to a full day. Once the gorillas are found, you are allowed one unforgettable hour in their presence, observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the park headquarters to receive your Uganda gorilla trekking certificate. You will then transfer back to the hotel for a hot meal. Later in the evening, enjoy a cultural tour before returning for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, check out and transfer to the Cyanika Border for immigration formalities as you cross back into Rwanda. Continue the scenic drive to Kigali, arriving in time for lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a moving tribute that offers insight into Rwanda’s history and remarkable journey of resilience. You will also explore the vibrant Inema Art Center, showcasing contemporary African art and creativity.

After the city tour, transfer to Kigali International Airport in time for your outbound flight, marking the end of your unforgettable East African safari experience.
