Nairobi - Masai Mara

After a relaxed breakfast, your guide will meet you for departure to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy a scenic drive along the floor of the Great Rift Valley with a brief stop at the viewpoint to admire sweeping escarpments and capture photos. Continue through rural countryside and Masai homelands, arriving in time for lunch and a short rest.

In the afternoon, set out on your first game drive across rolling savannah dotted with acacia trees. The Mara is renowned for its rich wildlife, especially lions, cheetahs, and leopards, and forms part of the greater ecosystem linking to Serengeti National Park. Return to camp at sunset for dinner and overnight.

Enjoy an early morning and evening game drive to absorb the enormity of the Masai Mara National Reserve. In this country of breathtaking vistas, you will see its vast assemblages of plains game together with their associated predators. Be ready to look for buffalo, black rhino, hippopotamus, leopard, cheetah, lion, common zebra, Coke's hartebeest, white-bearded gnu, oribi, warthog, and Thompson's and Grant's gazelle. You will have an optional visit to the Masai Cultural Village. This one-hour visit is a chance to interact with the Masai, get a glimpse into their culture and unique way of life, and see firsthand some of their customs and practices. All meals and your overnight stay are at the camp.
