These include a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum, an afternoon at the Giraffe Manor, and shopping excursions to Kazuri Beads to purchase beads and pottery (at an extra cost).

Day 2

Depart for Buffalo Springs National Reserve after breakfast. Head to the semi-desert Northern Frontier of Samburu, arriving late afternoon. Check in at your hotel for lunch and a short rest. Enjoy a thrilling afternoon game drive in the woodlands and open savannah areas of the Samburu plains in search of the Samburu Special Five. The rocky areas of the Koitogor hills provide a safe habitat for various bird species to thrive.

Leave early for sunrise golden lights along the Ewaso Ngíro River and the Buffalo Springs Circuit, the best time to capture lions, cheetahs, and leopards on the move, and also for bird watchers with over 100 species. The Ewaso Ng’iro River is home to herds of elephants that display fascinating behaviors, including mud bathing and swimming in the river during hot afternoons. Return to your lodge for breakfast.
After breakfast, you go on a full-day game drive in the park with a packed lunch, following elephants through the riverine forests and tracking the elusive wild dogs known to roam this reserve. Expect sightings of the Samburu Special Five, among other wildlife. As the sun sets, the golden light transforms the rugged landscapes into a picture-perfect safari scene.

Take a morning game drive with eyes fixed on the unique terrain characterized by golden plains, cliffs, rocky outcrops, and hills that create unique scenic backdrops for landscape photos and create desert-like scenes with wildlife silhouettes. Besides the Samburu Special Five in their natural habitat, it’s also a home for ground birds, the colourful songbirds, raptors and cliff-dwelling birds hidden in the rocky areas of the hill.
Return to your lodge for breakfast and a brief time to relax. Take an afternoon tribal walk with Samburu warriors, who will be happy to share their culture and lifestyle with you. From their iconic beadwork and colorful attire to their unique warrior ceremonies and traditional dances, Samburu culture adds a profound dimension to your safari experience.

After an early, hearty breakfast, depart Samburu for Lake Nakuru, traversing the vast landscapes of the Northern Frontier. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. Go on a late-afternoon game drive to see one of the largest ornithological spots, flocks of flamingo at the lake, and a variety of wildlife, including the famous white and black rhinos found in this park.

Day 6
Masai Mara National Reserve

After an early breakfast, we drive to the Masai Mara, Kenya’s premier wildlife park, which is home to the greatest concentration of wildlife in the world. We continue to explore the park on the afternoon game drive in search of lion, cheetah, elephant, buffalo and other members of the Big Five, as well as other animals. At sunset, we will visit a section of the Mara River where we hope to see many hippos and crocodiles.

Day 7

Take an early-morning game drive in the park, then return to your camp for breakfast. After breakfast, you go on a full-day game drive with a packed lunch in search of its popular residents, such as well-known predators and their prey, like zebra, wildebeest and giraffe.
The vast, open grasslands of the Serengeti-Mara are home to over 3 million large mammals. These include over 1.4 million wildebeest, which migrate each year in an enormous, struggling herd between the southern and northern parts of the Serengeti and back again.
In the evening, visit the Maasai village for a warm welcome, a traditional dance, cultural tours and insights into how they coexist with wildlife in the Mara ecosystem. You also have the chance to meet local artisans and see their intricate handcrafted souvenirs, giving you a memorable cultural experience.
