Transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park

Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Kigali. After a short briefing, enjoy a scenic 2–3 hour drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills and countryside toward Akagera National Park.

Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and have lunch before heading out for an exciting evening game drive. Explore the southern sector of the park, known for its diverse wildlife and beautiful landscapes of savannah, woodlands, and lakes. Keep your camera ready for sightings of elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes, and possibly lions as they become more active in the cooler hours.

Enjoy a stunning sunset over the plains before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Explore the northern plains in search of lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and various antelope species. Enjoy the cool sunrise and excellent photography opportunities as animals roam the open savannah.

Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, head to Lake Ihema for a guided boat cruise. Glide along the calm waters while spotting hippos, Nile crocodiles, and a variety of water birds along the shoreline. After the cruise, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Enjoy a short early morning game drive in Akagera National Park for your final wildlife sightings and photography. After breakfast, check out and depart for Kigali, enjoying scenic countryside views along the way.

Upon arrival, embark on a guided city tour. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial for a historical insight into Rwanda’s past, explore local markets, art centers, and key landmarks around the city. After the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your memorable safari experience.
