Pick up from your hotel in Kigali in the morning and transfer by road to Akagera National Park, located in eastern Rwanda (approx. 2.5–3 hours drive). Enjoy scenic countryside views along the way.

Upon arrival and check-in, head out for an evening birding session. Explore the park’s savanna, woodlands, and lakeshores, where you may spot waterbirds, raptors, bee-eaters, and other colorful savanna species as the sun sets. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Start the day with an early morning game drive in Akagera National Park, the best time to spot both birds and wildlife. Look out for savanna species, raptors, and waterbirds, along with animals such as giraffes, elephants, zebras, and antelopes.

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Ihema, offering excellent views of waterbirds and scenic landscapes.

In the afternoon, transfer back to Kigali, arriving in the evening for drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
