Day 1
Your Whale Route adventure begins with a morning pickup from your Cape Town hotel between 08:00 and 09:00. You will follow one of the most scenic coastal drives in the Western Cape.
The journey takes you along the spectacular coastline through Gordon’s Bay, over the dramatic Sir Lowry’s Pass, and onward to the charming seaside villages of Pringle Bay and Betty’s Bay.
Your first nature stop includes the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens, set within the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve. Here, you’ll explore indigenous fynbos vegetation, tranquil pathways, waterfalls, and rich birdlife. You will also visit the nearby Fernkloof Nature Reserve, home to mountain and coastal fynbos across 2,000 hectares of protected land.
Continuing to Hermanus, internationally renowned for land-based whale watching, you will have approximately 1.5 hours to enjoy this vibrant coastal town.
You’ll return to Cape Town around 17:30 with drop-off at your hotel.
