The safari typically commences with an early morning departure from Nairobi to mitigate urban traffic and maximize afternoon field time. Travelers traverse the Kikuyu escarpment, stopping at viewpoints to observe the Rift Valley floor, which contains dormant volcanoes such as Mount Longonot.

Upon arrival at Enkorok Mara Camp—located near the Oloolaimutia Gate in the Siana Conservancy—guests check in for full-board accommodation. The camp is situated on the banks of the Oloirigynyisho River, providing a natural corridor for wildlife such as zebras and elephants. The first afternoon is dedicated to an introductory game drive. During this period, the "golden hour" provides optimal lighting for photography and coincides with the increased activity of crepuscular predators.
