Day 2
Walking Safari in Arusha National Park
Walking Safari in Arusha National Park
Arusha National Park sits at the foot of Mount Meru and covers a surprisingly varied stretch of terrain for its size – rainforest, open savannah and the Momella Lakes within a single day's reach. It's also one of the few parks in Tanzania where walking safaris are permitted.
The morning starts on foot with an armed ranger. Giraffe, buffalo and warthog move through the acacia woodland largely undisturbed, and at 20 to 30 metres the proximity feels different than it does from a vehicle. After around an hour and a half, you'll continue to the Momella Lakes – a reliable spot for flamingo, pelican, ibis and hornbill, among more than 200 recorded species.
After picnic lunch, you'll start driving to the lodge and check in at Manyara’s Secret. Your villa for two with a private plunge pool is the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the magic of your first safari days together.

Day 3
Cultural Experience in Mto wa Mbu Village
Cultural Experience in Mto wa Mbu Village
Your morning is spent in Mto wa Mbu, a market town at the foot of the Rift Valley escarpment with an unusually rich cultural texture – more than 120 tribal communities have settled here over generations, and that mix shows in the market, the food, and the crafts.
On foot with your guide, you'll move through the village at an easy pace – past traditional homesteads, through the local market, and into a banana plantation where the variety of what grows here, and the ingenuity of how it's used, tends to catch people off guard. Local artists will walk you through their painting traditions, and woodcarvers will explain the significance behind the forms they work with – the kind of detail that's easy to miss without someone to translate it.
The afternoon is yours to spend as you like — read on the terrace, watch the light shift across the landscape, or book a massage if you feel like unwinding even more. As evening comes, it’s a great place to slow down and enjoy the calm together.

Day 4
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater
An early start gets you into the crater before the morning light fades. The descent takes around 30 minutes through forest, with a viewpoint stop at the rim before the caldera floor opens up below. The crater holds one of the highest concentrations of wildlife per square kilometre on the continent – elephant, buffalo, zebra, lion and a small resident population of black rhino, all within a single enclosed landscape. Cheetah are present too, though less predictable. The permanent water and grazing keep most animals here year-round, which gives the day a particular reliability. A mid-morning stop at Lake Magadi is worth the pause – hippos surface near the shore, and yellow-billed kites tend to take an interest in any food left unattended. The crater has held UNESCO World Heritage status since 1979.

Day 5
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park
Few places in Africa concentrate this much wildlife in one landscape. Seronera sits at the heart of the Serengeti, where the river of the same name runs year-round and the grass stays green long after the surrounding plains have turned dry. Resident lions live here in numbers that anchor the largest population on the continent. Leopards are seen regularly in the yellow-barked acacias along the riverbank, drowsing through the heat of the day in the high branches. Beyond the river, the open plains stretch in every direction: wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and the predators that follow them. UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981.
In the evening, a private bush dinner is set up in the open. The bush at night has its own atmosphere – sounds carry differently, and the darkness beyond the table is rarely entirely still.

Day 6
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park
The balloon launches at dawn. A vehicle collects you from the lodge in the early hours – nocturnal animals are occasionally seen along the road at this time – and takes you to the launch site, where the balloon is already being inflated on arrival.
The flight covers around an hour and a half over the savannah as the light comes up. Landing is followed by a picnic breakfast in the bush with a glass of non-alcoholic champagne.
The rest of the morning is yours – return to the lodge, or continue directly into a game drive. Your guide will move through sections of Seronera not covered the day before, following sightings and adjusting as the day unfolds.

Flight from Serengeti to Arusha
Flight from Serengeti to Arusha
This morning ends with a flight out. If you'd like a short game drive on the way to the airstrip, an early breakfast makes that possible – your guide will read the conditions and take the most promising route. If you'd prefer a relaxed morning at the lodge, that works equally well. Let your guide know on the day.
