Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Your journey begins with an early morning pickup from Nairobi (around 7:30 AM). The drive to
the Masai Mara takes approximately 5–6 hours, including a stop at the Great Rift Valley
Escarpment for photography. You will arrive at your budget lodge in time for a late lunch.
Afternoon Activity: Your first game drive in a 4x4 Landcruiser.
Evening: Return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation by the campfire.

Full Day Exploration of the Masai Mara

Morning: Following an early breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for a comprehensive
exploration of the reserve. During the game drive your guide will track the
massive herds of wildebeest and zebra as they congregate near the Mara River.
Midday: Enjoy a "bush lunch" at a designated picnic site under an acacia tree, providing a front-
row seat to the vast plains. Afternoon: Continue searching for the "Big Five." Visit the Mara River
to observe hippos and Nile crocodiles. The open grasslands offer excellent opportunities to
witness predator-prey interactions.
Evening: Return to camp for dinner and relaxation.

Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru

After an early breakfast, you will depart the Mara and head north toward Lake Nakuru National
Park (a 5–6-hour drive).
The Flamingo Experience: Upon arrival and after lunch, you will head to the shores of Lake
Nakuru. While flamingo populations fluctuate based on water alkalinity, the lake usually offers
sightings of both Lesser and Greater Flamingos, along with pelicans and cormorants.
Rhino Sanctuary: Lake Nakuru is Kenya’s premier sanctuary for both Black and White Rhinos.
It is almost guaranteed that you will complete your "Big Five" checklist here if you missed the
rhino in the Mara
Evening: Return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation by the campfire.

Lake Nakuru to Nairobi

Morning Activity: A final "sunrise" game drive. This is the best time to spot the elusive leopard
in the acacia woodlands surrounding the lake.
Departure: After a late breakfast, begin the drive back to Nairobi (3 hours). You will arrive in the
late afternoon, allowing for a final "Farewell Dinner" at a restaurant like Carnivore or any other that you may suggest.
