Day 2
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your accommodation and drive you to Tarangire National Park. The journey takes about two and a half hours along well-maintained tarmac roads.
The park gets its name from the Tarangire River, often called the “river of warthogs,” which serves as the lifeline for wildlife during the dry season. Here, you’ll have the chance to see majestic elephant herds gathered near the river, as well as giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. Predators like lions and leopards are usually close by, making wildlife spotting even more exciting.
Bird enthusiasts will be thrilled, as Tarangire is home to more breeding bird species than anywhere else in the world. Don’t miss the iconic, ancient Baobab trees, some believed to be over a thousand years old.
Lunch will be served at a picnic spot within the park. After an unforgettable game drive, you will continue to your accommodation in Karatu for the night.

Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you will drive up into the cooler regions of Ngorongoro Conservation Area. When you first see Ngorongoro Crater, it looks like a forgotten world. Concealed by the steep volcanic walls is a pristine wilderness including sweeping savannah, pockets of acacia woodland, and glistening lakes and swamps. The Crater was created when a large volcano
exploded and collapsed in on itself two to three million years ago and it covers an area of 260 km². The Crater is famous for both its geological delights and for being a natural reserve that is home to some of the densest large mammal populations in the whole of the African continent. After you descend into the Crater, you quickly find yourself amongst large numbers of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and more than 500 bird species. The Crater provides you with the best chance of seeing the endangered black rhino.
Lunch will be at a picnic site on the Crater Floor. After your game drive, you will return to your accommodation in Karatu.

Day 4
Lake Manyara
Lake Manyara
After breakfast, you will set off for Lake Manyara National Park, located about 120 km west of Arusha. Though small in size, this park is packed with variety. It’s both intimate being one of Africa’s narrowest parks and dramatic, with the Great Rift Escarpment looming over its western edge.
At the heart of the park lies Lake Manyara, a shallow, seasonal salt lake that expands and contracts throughout the year. The lake attracts thousands of wading birds, including flamingos, as well as over 500 other bird species. In the dense evergreen forests, you may encounter baboons and elephants, and keep an eye out for the famous tree-climbing lions that have made Lake Manyara world-renowned.
Lunch will be a picnic inside the park. After your game drive, your safari adventure concludes as your guide drops you off at your preferred location whether in Arusha, Kilimanjaro Airport, or Arusha Airport. We hope your journey with Kilipath African Safaris has been unforgettable.
