Welcome to Uganda! Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, meet your friendly Mooi Adventures guide and begin your African adventure. After a warm welcome, enjoy a comfortable transfer to your hotel as you settle into the relaxed atmosphere of Entebbe. Depending on your arrival time and energy levels, you may take a gentle stroll around the town, visit the beautiful Lake Victoria shoreline, or simply relax at your hotel after your flight. This is your first taste of Uganda, where friendly smiles, tropical greenery and a warm atmosphere set the tone for the adventure ahead. Enjoy dinner and a peaceful overnight stay as you prepare for an exciting journey into the Ugandan wilderness.

Day 2
Entebbe to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Entebbe to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After breakfast, your safari begins as you travel north through Uganda’s beautiful countryside towards Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a fascinating guided rhino-tracking experience. Walk through the sanctuary with an experienced ranger as you search for Uganda’s magnificent white rhinos in their protected natural habitat. Being on foot makes the encounter especially exciting as you observe these powerful animals from a respectful distance.
Continue towards Murchison Falls, passing local villages, farmland and changing landscapes along the way. Upon arrival in the park, head directly to the Top of Murchison Falls before checking into your lodge. Stand above the dramatic gorge and watch as the mighty Nile forces its way through a narrow gap, creating a powerful rush of water and mist.
After enjoying this spectacular view, continue to your lodge for check-in, dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Rise early and head into Murchison Falls National Park for an exciting morning game drive while the savannah is still cool and wildlife is at its most active. Watch the golden plains come alive as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs and other antelopes move through the wilderness. Keep your camera ready for predators such as lions and, with luck, leopards. After the game drive, return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, set out on a boat cruise along the Nile towards the base of Murchison Falls. Cruise close to the riverbanks as hippos gather in the water, crocodiles bask in the sunshine and elephants come down to drink. The river is also a paradise for bird lovers, with colourful species lining the shoreline. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, leave the dramatic landscapes of Murchison Falls behind and begin your journey south towards Kibale Forest National Park. The drive takes you through changing landscapes, from open countryside and farmland to lush green hills and rural communities. Along the way, enjoy glimpses of everyday Ugandan life as you pass local villages, roadside markets and plantations. The journey itself becomes part of the experience, offering beautiful scenery and opportunities to appreciate Uganda beyond its national parks. As you approach Kibale, the landscape becomes increasingly green and forested. This region is famous for its incredible concentration of primates and is often called the Primate Capital of Africa. Arrive at your lodge, check in and relax. Enjoy the peaceful forest surroundings and prepare for tomorrow’s exciting chimpanzee trekking adventure.

After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before entering the enchanting Kibale Forest in search of habituated chimpanzee families. Follow your expert ranger along forest trails, listening for their calls and watching the treetops for movement. When the chimpanzees are located, enjoy an unforgettable encounter as they swing through the trees, forage, play and interact with one another. The experience offers a fascinating glimpse into the lives of our closest wild relatives. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch before continuing towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing before entering the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of your assigned gorilla family. Follow experienced rangers along forest trails as you move through thick vegetation, listening for the sounds of the forest. The trek can be challenging, but every step brings you closer to an extraordinary encounter. When you finally meet the gorillas, spend up to one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat. Watch playful youngsters, powerful silverbacks and close family interactions unfold just meters away. After the trek, enjoy a meaningful Batwa cultural experience, learning about their traditions, stories and deep connection with the forest. After breakfast, bid farewell to the beautiful hills of southwestern Uganda and begin your journey towards Kigali, Rwanda. Enjoy the scenic drive through the highlands before crossing the Uganda–Rwanda border and continuing towards the Rwandan capital. Upon arrival in Kigali, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, an important place of remembrance and reflection that provides insight into Rwanda’s history and the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The visit offers a deeper understanding of the country and its journey towards rebuilding and reconciliation. Depending on your departure schedule, you may have some time to enjoy a final glimpse of Kigali before transferring to the airport. As your Uganda and Rwanda adventure comes to an end, take with you memories of powerful waterfalls, incredible wildlife, chimpanzees, mountain gorillas, vibrant communities and the unforgettable landscapes of East Africa.
