Addis Ababa – Bale Goba – Dinsho

Your journey begins with a morning drive from Addis Ababa to Bale Goba. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your driver-guide and a local Bale Mountains expert. After a short coffee break in Goba town, you will continue to Dinsho, the headquarters of Bale Mountains National Park. Here you will enjoy a scenic hike through open grasslands and forest areas where you may spot endemic wildlife such as the Mountain Nyala and Menelik’s Bushbuck. After the walk, return to Goba for dinner and an overnight stay. Overnight stay Wabe Shebelle Hotel.

Lake Geber-Guracha & Sanetti Plateau

After breakfast, you will drive toward the trekking starting point and begin a hike of about four hours to the beautiful Lake Geber-Guracha, located at around 3,900 meters above sea level. The trail offers spectacular views of the Bale Mountains and chances to spot wildlife, including the rare Ethiopian wolf. You will enjoy a picnic lunch near the lake before continuing your journey across the dramatic Sanetti Plateau, passing close to Tullu Demtu, the second-highest peak in Ethiopia. Later, return to Goba for dinner and overnight Wabe Shebelle Hotel.

Harena Forest Exploration

In the morning, you will head to the lush Harena Forest, one of the most beautiful and biodiverse areas of Bale Mountains National Park. Enjoy a peaceful three-hour hike through this dense forest, known for its rich birdlife and unique vegetation. After returning to the lodge for lunch, you will take a short afternoon walk to visit the scenic Bale Waterfalls. Dinner and overnight stay will be in Goba. Overnight stay Wabe Shebelle.
