Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your professional safari guide who will brief you about your upcoming adventure. Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at your hotel or take a short visit to nearby attractions such as the shores of Lake Victoria or the botanical gardens. Day 2

Transfer to Kibale National Park

Transfer to Kibale National Park

After an early breakfast, depart Entebbe and begin your scenic journey westwards through Uganda’s beautiful countryside towards Kibale National Park. The drive takes you through rolling hills, traditional villages, tea plantations, and lush farmlands. You will have lunch enroute in Fort Portal, a charming town located at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. In the afternoon you will arrive at Kibale National Park, known as the primate capital of the world. Check in at your lodge and enjoy a relaxed evening surrounded by the sounds of the forest. Overnight near Kibale.

Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before entering the forest for an unforgettable chimpanzee tracking experience. Kibale is home to one of the largest populations of wild chimpanzees in Africa. As you walk through the dense tropical forest with experienced rangers, you may also encounter other primates such as red colobus monkeys, L'hoest's monkeys, and black-and-white colobus monkeys. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will spend an hour observing their behaviors in their natural habitat. After lunch, drive south to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey offers scenic views of crater lakes and the Rwenzori mountain ranges. Overnight stay inside the park.

Begin the day with an early morning game drive across the Kasenyi plains where wildlife is most active. You may encounter elephants, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, warthogs, and predators such as lions or leopards. After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise along the famous Kazinga Channel which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. This waterway hosts one of the highest concentrations of hippos and Nile crocodiles in Africa. You will also see elephants, buffaloes, and a variety of water birds along the shores. After breakfast, depart Queen Elizabeth National Park and drive towards the mist-covered hills of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey passes through the Ishasha sector where you may spot the famous tree-climbing lions resting on fig tree branches. Continue through scenic landscapes and rural communities until you reach Bwindi, one of Africa’s oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests. This park is home to almost half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Check in at your lodge and prepare for the next day’s extraordinary gorilla trekking experience.

Today is one of the most memorable highlights of your safari. After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing from experienced guides. You will then begin trekking through the thick forest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take anywhere from a few hours to most of the day depending on the location of the gorillas. Once you find them, you will spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, play, and interact with each other. The experience is both thrilling and humbling. Return to the lodge in the afternoon to relax and reflect on the adventure.

After breakfast, depart Bwindi and drive across the border into Rwanda to Kigali. The drive offers spectacular views of the rolling hills that give Rwanda its nickname “the land of a thousand hills.” Depending on time, you may visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial for a deeper understanding of the country’s history. Later, transfer to the airport for your flight to Arusha, Tanzania. Upon arrival, meet your Tanzanian guide and transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.
