Day 1

Your Tanzania safari adventure begins with a morning departure from Arusha and a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. After entering the park, enjoy an exciting game drive through diverse landscapes of open savannah, seasonal swamps, and river valleys that attract a wide variety of wildlife. Tarangire is one of the best places in Tanzania to see elephants up close, along with giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, and many antelope species. Lions and leopards can also be spotted during game drives. The Tarangire River is the park’s main water source and attracts large concentrations of animals, especially during the dry season. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park while surrounded by nature. Continue your afternoon game drive before exiting the park and heading to your comfortable mid-range lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight stay near Tarangire.

Day 2

Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a beautiful park located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Though smaller in size, Lake Manyara is famous for its lush forests, diverse habitats, and incredible birdlife. Enjoy a morning game drive through groundwater forests, open plains, and lakeshore areas where wildlife is abundant. The park is well known for its tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, and elephants that often move through the forest. You may also see hippos, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and many bird species including flamingos and pelicans along the lake. Enjoy a picnic lunch while overlooking the scenic landscapes of Lake Manyara. Continue exploring the park during an afternoon game drive before leaving the park and driving toward the Ngorongoro highlands or Karatu area where you will spend the night at a mid-range lodge surrounded by beautiful scenery.

After an early breakfast, begin your journey toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park. As you enter Serengeti National Park, enjoy an en-route game drive across the vast savannah landscapes that make the park one of the best wildlife destinations in Africa. Serengeti is home to the Big Five and hosts one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth, the Great Migration of millions of wildebeest and zebras. After breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a spectacular game drive in this UNESCO World Heritage Site often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” The crater floor hosts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, making it one of the best places to see the Big Five in a single day. During the game drive you may encounter black rhinos, lions, buffalo, elephants, zebras, and wildebeests grazing across the open grasslands. The crater is also home to hippos that relax in freshwater pools and many bird species including flamingos near Lake Magadi. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor surrounded by incredible landscapes and wildlife. In the afternoon, ascend the crater and begin the scenic drive back to Arusha through the fertile highlands of northern Tanzania. Arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon where your unforgettable Tanzania safari experience comes to an end.
