Day 1

Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Your 5-day Tanzania camping safari begins with an early morning departure from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. The drive takes about two hours through scenic Maasai villages and open landscapes. Upon arrival, enjoy a full game drive in Tarangire, a park well known for excellent wildlife viewing including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and numerous bird species. The Tarangire River attracts animals throughout the year, making it one of the best parks in northern Tanzania for wildlife encounters. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park while surrounded by nature. In the afternoon continue your safari game drive, exploring different areas of the park with your professional driver-guide. Later in the evening, drive to the campsite for dinner and overnight stay near Tarangire National Park, enjoying a true African wilderness camping experience under the stars.

Day 2

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a small but beautiful park located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. This park is famous for its lush groundwater forest, large troops of baboons, and the unique tree-climbing lions occasionally seen resting in the branches. Enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Manyara, where you may also spot elephants, hippos, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and hundreds of bird species including flamingos along the lake shore. The park’s diverse ecosystems, including forest, lake, and open grassland, make it one of Tanzania’s most scenic wildlife destinations. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing with an afternoon wildlife drive. In the late afternoon, leave the park and travel toward the Ngorongoro highlands for dinner and overnight at a campsite near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Day 3

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, begin the journey to the legendary Serengeti National Park, passing through the beautiful landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, enjoy an en-route game drive as you enter the endless plains of the Serengeti, one of Africa’s most famous safari destinations and home to the spectacular Great Migration. The Serengeti offers exceptional wildlife viewing including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras. Enjoy a picnic lunch while surrounded by the iconic savannah landscape. In the afternoon, continue exploring the park on an exciting Serengeti game drive, where your guide will help track wildlife and explain the ecosystem. Later in the evening, arrive at the Serengeti public campsite for dinner prepared by your safari cook and enjoy a memorable night camping in the heart of the African wilderness.

Begin the day with an early morning sunrise game drive in Serengeti National Park, the best time to see predators such as lions, leopards, and hyenas when they are still active. The golden morning light also provides excellent opportunities for wildlife photography across the Serengeti plains. After breakfast at the campsite, continue exploring the park with another morning safari drive, searching for elephants, giraffes, antelopes, and many other animals. Enjoy a picnic lunch before beginning the journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, enjoy wildlife viewing as you leave the Serengeti ecosystem. Arrive in the late afternoon at the Ngorongoro Crater rim, where breathtaking views of the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera await. Dinner and overnight at a campsite near Ngorongoro Crater, preparing for the crater safari the next day.

Day 5

Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

After an early breakfast, descend 600 meters into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, often called one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. During your Ngorongoro Crater game drive, you may spot the famous Big Five including lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and the rare black rhino. The crater also hosts zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, and a wide variety of birdlife including flamingos around Lake Magadi. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor surrounded by breathtaking scenery. After the safari, ascend the crater walls and begin the scenic drive back to Arusha, passing through the fertile highlands and Maasai communities. Arrive in the late afternoon where your 5-day Tanzania camping safari adventure comes to an end.
