Day 1

Your Tanzania safari begins with an early morning departure from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, located about 120 km southwest of Arusha. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant population, iconic baobab trees, and the Tarangire River, which attracts wildlife especially during the dry season. Enjoy your first exciting game drive through scenic savannah, woodland, and riverine habitats where you may spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and predators such as lions. This park is one of the best places in northern Tanzania for classic safari photography and peaceful wildlife viewing away from heavier crowds. After a picnic lunch in the park, continue exploring before driving to your mid-range lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

After breakfast, continue to Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic gem set at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Though smaller than Serengeti, Lake Manyara is known for its diverse ecosystems, underground water forest, birdlife, and famous tree-climbing lions. During your game drive, look out for baboons, elephants, hippos, flamingos when conditions allow, and a variety of plains game across the lakeshore and forest zones. The park offers a very different safari atmosphere, combining lush greenery with open views over the alkaline lake. After lunch and more wildlife viewing, drive to your mid-range lodge in the Karatu or Manyara area. Relax, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the journey toward Serengeti on the following day.
