Day 1

Arusha - Tarangire National Park

Arusha - Tarangire National Park

We will pick you up from your hotel/ Kilimanjaro Airport and take you to a very special national park, Tarangire is famous for its diverse landscape with nine different vegetation zone. It is also known for its abundance of Ancient Baobab trees (the largest trees on the continent) that fill the landscape and dwarf the animals next to them. The river in the park is full of wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and, of course, elephants. In fact, the park has the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and offers the unique opportunity to observe interactions between elephant families. The lunch area is fascinating and boasts an observatory with amazing views of the river and wildlife (there is a good chance of seeing a hunt while having your picnic). In the afternoon we will go on another game drive before making your way to the accommodation.

Permanent residents of this park also include giraffes, elephants, impalas, and a huge number of buffaloes and hippos. It is hard to describe the landscape of Lake Manyara in words. Seeing the Serengeti for the first time is unforgettable. As you progress into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means, in local language, "endless plains". The park is made up of 6,900 sq. mile (18,000 sq. km) and, for most of it, the plains will stretch to the horizon and defy your senses and perception of distance. It is the home of the Great Migration, two million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and all kinds of antelopes. As for big cats and other large predators, it's the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. Later in the afternoon transfer to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
