Your trek begins at Rongai Gate after completing park registration at Kilimanjaro National Park. The trail gradually climbs through farmland and forest where wildlife such as monkeys and birds can be spotted before reaching Simba Camp.

Day 2
Simba Camp – Second Cave Camp
Simba Camp – Second Cave Camp
Leave the forest behind and continue trekking through moorland landscapes with expansive views of the northern slopes of Kilimanjaro. The trail climbs gently across open terrain before reaching Second Cave Camp.

Second Cave Camp – Kikelewa Camp

The trail becomes steeper as you trek toward Kikelewa Camp. Along the way you will pass unique alpine vegetation and enjoy stunning views of the rugged peaks and valleys surrounding the mountain.

Kikelewa Camp – Mawenzi Tarn Camp
Kikelewa Camp – Mawenzi Tarn Camp
Today’s trek leads to the beautiful Mawenzi Tarn Camp located beneath the towering cliffs of Mawenzi Peak. The dramatic scenery and alpine setting make this one of the most picturesque camps on the mountain.

Day 5
Mawenzi Tarn Camp – Kibo Hut
Mawenzi Tarn Camp – Kibo Hut
Cross the wide saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. This high alpine desert landscape offers vast views and unique volcanic scenery before reaching Kibo Hut where you will prepare for the summit attempt.

Day 6
Kibo Hut – Summit – Horombo Hut
Kibo Hut – Summit – Horombo Hut
Your summit attempt begins around midnight. Climb steadily to Gilman's Point and continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating at the summit, descend to Horombo Hut for rest.
Elevation: 4,700 m → 5,895 m → 3,720 m

Day 7
Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate – Moshi
Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate – Moshi
Descend through moorland and rainforest to Marangu Gate where you receive your summit certificate. Afterwards transfer back to Moshi for relaxation and celebration of your achievement.
