Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Your day begins early with a briefing from expert rangers who assign you to a small group and a specific gorilla family.
You then set off on foot into the dense rain forest, hiking through thick vegetation, mist-covered hills, and uneven terrain which can take between 2 to 8 hours depending on the gorillas’ location. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them at a close range in their natural habitat watching their interactions, learning about their behavior, taking photographs. Seeing a massive silver-back up close, yet so calm and human-like, is both humbling and deeply emotional.
After the trek, you will receive your Gorilla Trekking Certificate then drive to Lake Mburo National Park, enjoying scenic countryside views.
Gorilla trekking in Bwindi is more than a safari activity—it’s a rare connection with one of our closest relatives in the wild, leaving a lasting impression long after the journey ends.

Lake Mburo Game Drive & Boat Cruise

After breakfast, you will enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. Lake Mburo National Park offers a refreshing contrast to Uganda’s rainforest safaris.
The park is especially renowned for its large populations of zebras and impalas, as well as giraffes, elands, topis, buffaloes, warthogs, and bushbucks. Lake Mburo is also one of the best places in Uganda to see acacia-associated bird species, making it a favorite destination for bird lovers, with over 315 recorded bird species.

One of the highlights is the boat cruise on Lake Mburo, where you glide quietly along the water observing hippos, crocodiles, and water birds such as African fish eagles, kingfishers, herons, and cormorants.
Lake Mburo National Park is an ideal final stop on your safari relaxing, scenic, and wildlife-rich, offering a gentle transition back to Kampala after the intensity of gorilla trekking.
