1-Day Soweto Heritage & Lion Park Adventure

Start your day with a pick-up from Johannesburg and visit the FNB Soccer Stadium to learn about its role in Soweto’s history. Drive through Diepkloof and Motsoaledi, stopping at a local community care centre. Explore Orlando West, passing Freedom Square and Regina Mundi Church, then tour the Hector Pieterson Museum. Walk along Vilakazi Street to see the homes of Nelson Mandela, Winnie Mandela, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Time permitting, visit Soweto Towers, browse the craft market, or try bungee jumping (own cost). Next, head to Lion & Safari Park in the Cradle of Humankind. Enjoy a 1-hour guided mini-game drive to spot lions, cheetahs, and other wildlife. Visit Cub World to meet young lions and other animals. After refreshments, return to your Johannesburg accommodation, completing a full day of culture, history, and wildlife encounters.
