Day 1

Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will be picked up at the hotel or Airport by our African Vacation Safaris Professional driver guide and start your 5 Days Gorilla Habituation & Chimpanzee Trekking Safari and embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Along the way you will have a stop at the Equator Crossing in Kayabwe for pictures and a chance to stand both in Northern and Southern Hemisphere, and water experiment. Have another stopover in Mbarara for lunch and continue to Bwindi Forest, arriving in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay as you prepare for the gorilla habituation experience next day.

Day 2

Gorilla Habituation Experience in Bwindi Forest

Gorilla Habituation Experience in Bwindi Forest

You will wake up early in the morning and head to the park headquarters to join other visitors for briefing about gorilla trekking dos and donts while with mountain gorillas on your habituation experience.
After briefing, you will start your trek into the forests of Bwindi guided by researchers and guides. During your trek, you may encounter several birds, other animals and primates in the forest and once you have found the gorillas you will spend four hours with them and return back to the lodge. You will have an opportunity to listen and observe research doing their work for habituation gorillas and if possible you will be called upon to participate by collecting samples, naming of the group members, making calls and so much more.
In the evening, you will transfer to the lodge for relaxation followed by an overnight.

Day 3

Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, we will drive to Kibale National Park, this journey takes you through Queen Elizabeth National Park where you have chances of spotting some wild game as we drive through this savannah dominated national park.
Arrive in the park in time for lunch and spend the evening at rest. Also, you have another chances to cross the Equator at Kikolongo.

Day 4

Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest

Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest

Wake up early for breakfast, drive to Kibale National Park Headquarters for briefing on the Dos and Don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. You will be divided into small groups of six people headed by one guide who will then move with you into the forest to find of the chimpanzee troops.
Chimpanzees live in communities of between 50 – 250 individuals but usually breakup into small parties during the day to reduce competition on food. They will the recollect in the evening to build their nests. Once you find the chimpanzees, you will be allowed to spend one hour with the chimpanzees before returning to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon you will head out for a wetland walk in the nearby Bigodi Village for a cultural experience and sighting of other primate species like olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, and several bird species and interact with the locals. Later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will check out of your loge and embark on a journey back to Kampala with enn-route lunch in Mbarara or Mpigi, you will be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport, marking the end of your 5 Days Gorilla Habituation & Chimpanzee Trekking Safari.
