Andabise, stop at marozevo-peyrieras

Departure from Antananarivo and drive toward the Andasibe-Analamazoatra Reserve - 145 km,
approximately 4-5 hours (partly paved, partly rough road).
The journey passes through the lush green landscapes of the East and the characteristic villages of
the Imerina ethnic group. Along the way, you can observe locals working in the fields using
traditional techniques, with rice paddies, cultivated terraces, and herds grazing peacefully.
Stop at Marozevo - Peyrieras.
On the way, visit the Peyrieras Reserve, which is home to chameleons, crocodiles, snakes,
butterflies, and bats.
Arrival in Andasibe and continuation to the Vakona Private Reserve to meet and interact with
friendly lemurs.

The Andasibe Reserve protects a vast area of tropical rainforest, and the excursion is dedicated to
spotting its main attraction—the Indri-Indri lemur, the largest of all lemur species. Along the forest
trails, you may also encounter various chameleons and other forest-dwelling animals.
During the journey to or from Antananarivo, a stop will be made at Marozevo Farm to admire the
colorful chameleons and other unique species.

Visit Akanin'ny Nofy

The journey travels through the humid tropical forests of eastern Madagascar, revealing mountainous scenery, plantations of banana, cocoa, and coffee, and traditional Betsimisaraka villages. Arrival in Manambato is followed by a 45-minute transfer to Ankanin’ny Nofy.

From there, a motorized canoe takes you across Lakes Rasoabe, Rasoamasay, and Ampitambe along the Pangalanes Canal. This unique canal system, stretching along the east coast, consists of shallow lagoons separated from the sea and fed by inland freshwater streams.

Surrounded by lush vegetation, forests, and sandy dunes, the canal is essential to local communities, serving as a key route for transport, communication, and trade.

The guided tour of the reserve will take about 2 hours of trekking. The reserve is home to 10
different species of lemurs living in their natural habitat, including Indri, Sifaka, Crowned lemur,
Varécia variegata, Propithecus, and the rare Aye-Aye.
The flora is equally rich, featuring orchids, carnivorous plants (Nepenthes), mahogany trees, and
the Traveler's Palm (Ravinala).
This private nature reserve is located on a 46-hectare peninsula.
