Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or in Arusha, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional driver-guide, who will provide a detailed briefing about your safari. You will then begin a scenic transfer to Karatu, a charming town located near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

If time allows upon arrival, you will visit the Hadzabe community near Lake Eyasi. The Hadzabe are one of Africa’s last remaining hunter-gatherer societies, living in small nomadic groups and relying on traditional skills such as hunting with handmade bows and gathering wild foods like tubers and baobab fruit. Their society is largely egalitarian, with no formal leadership structures, offering a rare and authentic cultural experience.

Later in the day, you will check in at your lodge, where you can unwind and enjoy a relaxing evening. Dinner will be served, followed by an overnight stay on a full-board basis.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day Safari in the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater, The “Eighth Wonder of the World.” As you journey toward the crater, you will make a stop at a traditional Maasai village, where you will learn how they continue to coexist with wildlife, preserving their traditions alongside wild animals.

You will then descend approximately 600 meters into the vast caldera for an extraordinary wildlife experience. The crater floor is home to an incredible concentration of animals, offering excellent opportunities to spot the iconic Big Five, lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard, as well as zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, hippos, and a rich variety of birdlife.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot within the crater, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife. In the afternoon, continue with your game drive as you explore different habitats across the crater floor before ascending back to the rim, finally eturn to your lodge in Karatu.

Transfer back to Arusha – Departure

After breakfast, check out and begin your scenic transfer back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport. Depending on your departure schedule, you may enjoy a relaxed exploration of Arusha town, often referred to as the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit.

If time allows, visit one of East Africa’s largest art spaces, Cultural Heritage Centre, where you can browse unique African art, crafts, and souvenirs. You may also stop by a coffee lodge for a taste of Tanzania’s rich coffee culture, or take a leisurely stroll through the vibrant streets of Arusha, discovering local markets, charming cafés, and lively surroundings.

For those interested in nightlife or a final taste of the city, Arusha offers a variety of restaurants and spots to unwind before departure. You can also take advantage of this time for last-minute shopping.

Afterward, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your memorable Tanzanian safari experience.
