Kirindy Forest - Morondava
You'll have a morning visit to Kirindy forest. Kirindy comprises some 10.000ha of deciduous forest growing on sandy soils of the western coastal plain. The tree species are similar to other western deciduous forests, with a canopy height typically of 12 - 15m, reaching 20 -5m in more humid areas along watercourses. Beneath the canopy, throughout much of the forest, the understory and intermediate layer are densely vegetated. Three species of baobab live here: Adansonia rubrostipa, Adansonia Za and Adansonia grandidieri, the last being the largest of the baobabs, sometimes exceeding 30m in height. After the visit, you'll go back for lunch at the hotel and then a little break before taking the way to the sunset at the Avenue of Baobabs.
