The Khwai area of the Okavango lies along the northern boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve. Khwai Community Area has unfenced boundaries allowing wildlife to move freely between the woodlands in the wet season when water is plentiful and back to permanent rivers and lagoons in the dry season. The Khwai area offers the same wildlife experience as the Moremi Game Reserve with the added advantage of being a private concession, which means the ability to do walking safaris and night drives.

-Scheduled charter flight transfer from Khwai to Savuti Airstrip, take 20 minutes followed by 45 minutes road transfer while on a short game drive

Savuti is typical grassland surrounded by Acacia bush and stony outcrops. Savuti is famous for its lone elephant bulls, its lions and hyenas as well as the zebra and wildebeest migrations. Other game one can hope to see include: giraffe, tsessebe, warthog, black-backed jackal, leopard, cheetah, bat-eared fox, impala, wild dog, kudu.

Day 5

After Breakfast, depart at 6h00. There are various stretching points en route so you will stop again for some Tea/Coffee and rusks and the Cathedral of Baobabs trees.
Your guide will ensure that you are exposed to all the different landscapes and wildlife the area has to offer. The Savuti Marsh excursion includes waterholes, marsh area and baobab stretching points, riversides and grasslands. Just to name a few: Harvey’s Pan, where so many animals roam daily, the Savuti Sand Ridge, the Kudu Hills, Quarry hill and rock climbing to get a close view of the Bushmen Rock Paintings, seeing the Pimple Hills as well as Twin Hills.
At around mid-morning enjoy a light snack and refreshments.
The drive will showcasing the wonders of the Savuti Marsh with its magnificent herds of Buffalo and Elephant. After lunch you can relax in the lodge area, have a swim or enjoy a work out in the gym or have a spa treatment.
High Tea and Sundowner Game drive will start again at 16h00 that afternoon.

The Savuti region attracts a wide variety of resident and migratory bird species. Birdwatching can be enjoyed on game drives, around the lodge, or directly from private viewing decks.
Private dining experiences can be arranged for special occasions or intimate evenings in carefully selected locations within the main lodge area.
With minimal light pollution, night skies at Ghoha Hills are exceptionally clear, offering memorable stargazing experiences from lodge decks or around the fire.
