Today, we head to Lake Manyara National Park, a hidden gem celebrated for its dramatic scenery and rich wildlife. On your full-day game drive, keep your eyes open for tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, and a dazzling variety of birdlife along the lake’s edge. As the day winds down, we’ll continue to Africa Safari Manyara Escarpment, where comfort and relaxation await after your adventure.

Drive from Mto wa Mbu to the remote beauty of Lake Natron, where vast volcanic landscapes unfold before you. Join a Maasai guide for a flamingo walk along the lake’s shores, where endangered lesser flamingos gather in their thousands, painting the alkaline waters pink. Continue with a scenic hike to waterfalls, passing villages and dramatic escarpments along the way. Visit the Engaresero Footprint Site, where over 400 ancient tracks tell the story of early humans. Overnight in Africa Safari Lake Natron, surrounded by this unique wilderness.

After breakfast, hike to the Ngare Sero Waterfalls along the western edge of the lake. Pass narrow gorges and lush palms, then cool off by swimming in the natural slot canyons. Continue to Africa Safari Maasai Boma and explore the Pololeti Game Reserve, a vital wildebeest breeding ground and migration corridor. Spot lions, elephants, buffalo, and antelopes on a thrilling game drive. As night falls, head out for an optional night safari before overnighting at Africa Safari Maasai Boma.

As the day winds down, return to the lodge for a serene evening under the vast Serengeti sky. Spend your second night in Africa Safari South Serengeti.

Today will be very special and different. You will wake up very early, just before sunrise, and follow your guide until he finds the Hadzabe people, one of the last true nomadic local group in Africa. After some explanations about the group, you will join them in going about their daily morning activities. This experience is off the beaten track and does not feel touristic by any means. The photographic opportunities are out of this world. The experiences you can have with the local group include either joining the men on their daily hunt or joining the women on their daily fruit gathering session. Either way, you will learn about many aspects of the Hadzabe way of living. This will definitely be a highlight of your safari!

Mto wa Mbu
Mto wa Mbu
One of the highlights of visiting Mto wa Mbu is the chance to experience local food. Visitors can enjoy a traditional Tanzanian lunch prepared by local families, often including dishes made from fresh produce grown in the area. The region is especially famous for its bananas, which are used to make a variety of foods and even local banana beer.
Cultural activities such as visiting local artisans, Makonde wood carving workshops, and painting studios are also part of the experience. You can watch artists at work and purchase handmade souvenirs directly from the community. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to learn about traditional farming methods, irrigation systems, and the daily lives of the people.
